Jane Iredale and Lovely Mineral Makeup

Posted by Elana at 8:18 am

Jane Iredale mineral cosmetics So what is the  big deal about mineral makeup? I’ve never been too experimental with what goes on my face. But now, I am sooo glad I came across my own little sample of Jane Iredale’s PurePressed ® powder, which came from one of those fabulous TestTubes ™ from New Beauty Magazine. The sample itself was perfect, because there were five shades to test. With my uneven, biracial skin tone, I tend to fall between shades. So I found myself having fun and mixing them together (great as a concealer also)!

Just some of the reasons why I am in love with Jane Iredale makeup:

• Tons of plastic surgeons and dermatologists recommend this line (trustworthy!)
• Helps to calm and smooth irritated skin
• Won’t block pores!
• Has not been tested on animals
• Up to SPF 20 of broad-spectrum UVB and UVA protection

As Cher from the beloved 90s teen flick Clueless says, “You see how picky I am about my shoes, and they only go on my feet!” (…or something like that.) So I’m happy I got to test a product before taking the plunge and buying the entire line! What’s next on my list? More of Jane Iredale’s mineral makeup cosmetics. This time around, I want the Brush-Me Bronze ™. After all, it is for every “Goddess on the Go” and I absolutely love to embrace the look of SoCal beauty.

Have just tried the Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals but am not too happy with the results. I have a sensitive skin and within a few hours of applying the foundation my skin felt really tight, especially around the eyes and cheeks. I now have very dry patchy areas on my face and even cleansing and mositurising with my normal sensitive skin products is painful. My skin feels sore and the only thing for me to do is leave off wearing any makeup until it’s back to “normal”. I must say that the stockist I purchased from has offered me a full refund but no explanation as to why this product has had this effect, especially as it is offered as ideal for sensitive skins. Back to the drawing board for me. Have also tried Lilly Lollo products but found them to drying. Back to the drawing board for me. Has anyone else had this prpblem with mineral makeup?
