Beauty Chat is proud to feature Lisa Kline. You know, the fabulous boutique that is frequented by all of the hottest celebrities? The one with the mud-flap girl logo? Yeah, that one.
If you don’t regularly visit her stores (she has five in the Los Angeles area, the first of which was opened on the trendy Robertson Blvd.), you have probably seen her shop on TV and in various magazines. But if her empire is new to you, I am glad to fill you in on the magnificence that is Lisa Kline.
The stores are named after the owner, Lisa Kline – the woman behind the fashion. With an eye for style, and a business savvy that has attracted the most elite of clients, she has defined the Los Angeles retail scene. And she is at it again, with a revamped online store.
Not only can her high-profile customers avoid the blinding lights of flashing cameras with her “paparazzi curtain,” they can now also make purchases via the Web. And, when Lisa Kline does it, she does it right. An Internet shopping spree doesn’t merely consist of adding items to your checkout list, on Lisakline.com you get an online chat with a stylist — an interactive feature that allows you to communicate as you shop!!
As always, I wanted to go straight to the source to get a glimpse into the life of a successful businesswoman. Here is what Lisa had to say:
Leeann: Since the opening of your first store in 1995, what has been your best experience?
Lisa: I have been able to expand not just my women’s stores but also open men’s and kid’s stores. Touching on all demographics has allowed me to become an integral part of the Los Angeles community and establish relationships over the years with wonderful people that I may not have had the opportunity to know otherwise.”
L: What makes customers keep coming back? (Aside from the adorable products!)
Lisa: We provide the customer with a shopping experience that makes them feel good and want to return.
L: What are the hot trends that we should look out for this spring?
Lisa: Definitely look for more fitted, sexy silhouettes, clean retro styles. Also busy prints like safari and floral prints are going to be hot.
L: For aspiring entrepreneurs, is there any advice that you can give regarding starting their own ultra-successful clothing stores, or business ventures?
Lisa: Make sure you have a vision and a complete picture of what you want to do before you start. A business plan and enough money to carry out your venture are essential!

I read about Lisa sometime last year and thought her story about her road to success was so inspiring. She really had a vision and went for it. Great interview Leann, and thanks for sharing it with us today!

OK so everyone brace yourselves…if you didn’t about this: there’s a Lisa Kline OUTLET on Melrose…I KNOW! My sister and I checked it out a few years ago. It’s a small store, but had ridiculously cute tees and tanks. I got there when the Juicy craze sort of just started and was big time (around same time Von Dutch was huge too…also a Melrose shop then…). Unfortunately, I was just window shopping and trying to get inspired, so I didn’t buy anything…But I wanted too! Oh, and I’m big on customer service, and I can say the girls at the time were friendly. That’s a plus in my book! (I can’t believe I didn’t share this with you before, Leeann!)
