Hairstylists are some of the most fashion forward people I know. They help us to achieve and show off our personal styles. But have you ever noticed that they have to wear some of the most unfashionable smocks and aprons?
Well, look for the frumpy stylists no more! Beauty Chat is happy to introduce Hairwearsmocks.com, co-founded by Gina Coale, a veteran hairstylist of 22 years. Gina has designed and produced six different styles of smocks and aprons for both men and woman. I recently spoke with Gina on her creations:
JF: Why did you create Hair Wear Smocks?
GC: I finally decided to make my own designs because for the entire 22 years, they have had the ugliest smocks and aprons! Very unflattering, no matter what your size, you always seem to look like you are wearing a trash bag! I could never find anything more attractive…so I had said for years that I would just have to create my own designs, and I did. I also wanted something that I liked wearing.
Of course the main benefit being that if you like what you are wearing, you tend to keep it on all day protecting your clothes from color and chemicals.
JF: How long has this idea been in process?
GC: It has been about a year since I began designing them. I have six different styles, which are I think professional and attractive. I couldn’t wait to share them with the industry.

JF: What makes Hair Wear Smocks so fashionable?
GC: They have a lower neck line, most are tapered at the waist, and they show off and flatter your figure no matter what your size is. I knew I had to share them with the industry when after I started wearing them my clients started asking me if I had lost weight. I realized it was nothing more than wearing something that finally fit, nicely.
JF: How exciting for you! So, where is Hair Wear Smocks today?
GC: I recently brought my designs to the Long Beach Hair Show and had an excellent response. The gals of all ages and sizes really loved them! I am currently excited about designing a couple of cool rockabilly-style smocks and vests for men. The men I encountered at the show seemed to love the idea.
I also have a Care Wear line that is for women in the medical and dental field. Those designs are on their way!
JF: How can interested clients get in contact with you?
GC: Right now I have the designs on my site, you can order from there. If anybody has any other ideas I would love to hear them!
A special thanks to Gina for designing such a wonderful and necessary product. Pass her site on to your hairstylist…they are sure to love you for it!

Wow, Gina I really like them I’ll be interested in seeing the Medical line. Can you do anything with the ugly white medical jackets? Good luck with your new line. Patty
