Beauty Chat Wins Award at the First Annual Total Beauty Blog Summit!

Over the weekend, Beauty Chatter Denice and I had the pleasure of attending the first annual Total Beauty Blog Summit, and we were ecstatic to learn that Beauty Chat was named the best blog design!

New to the community of 100 or so beauty blogs (thanks to our friend Erika of Total Beauty and Makeup Bag), we were more than thrilled to head down to Manhattan Beach, just outside of Los Angeles, for a few days of mingling, learning, and indulging in the beauty industry.
To kick off the experience, Intelligent Beauty held a very glam reception, complete with beautiful people, great food, an open bar, and even shadowbox dancers. The mood was very LA and everyone in attendance appreciated the company’s exquisiteness and kindness. (There was even a celebrity guest! Dayna Devon of TV’s EXTRA and her plastic surgeon husband, Brent Moelleken, who has appeared on “Extreme Makeover.”)
It was an honor to meet with our other beauty bloggers and put a face to the witty words that we read on a daily basis. Seeing the group as a whole was definitely an inspiration, as well as a testament to the dedication that we all have for our blogging and beauty passion.
On Saturday the event was also held at the same location, providing a trendy atmosphere to get the inside scoop on all of the beauty projects that Intelligent Beauty is working on. As Beauty Chat representatives, Denice and I had the pleasure of learning about a new weight loss method, eco-beauty, makeup trends, and much more — in addition to hearing from industry specialists such as Total Beauty founder, president, and CEO Emrah Kovacoglu and Tia Williams of Shake Your Beauty.

However, the best part of the day was winning our award for best blog design AND winning and contest which gives us the opportunity to send out one dedicated newsletter from Beauty Chat to all of the Total Beauty members (not a member…then sign up, its easy and for everyone!) It’s definitely an amazing opportunity.
And of course all of the swag provided was awesome too! Look for blog posts about the products in the near future. There are so many items that we look forward to reviewing and giving away to our amazing readers.
After all of the courses the group un-winded with VIP status at the Air Conditioned bar in Venice beach. We had blast meeting Jennifer of Beauty in Real Life, she’s truly an amazing woman. A great way to end an already fantastic day!

The summit was rounded up with informational sessions on advertising, PR, and an explanation of where Total Beauty plans on taking their site in the future. It’s remarkable how they have grown since the launch late last year, and with all of the services that they have in store for their members, things are just going to continue to get better. If you have a beauty blog and haven’t signed up yet, we highly recommend doing so.
The rumor is that the next convention will be in New York, and Beauty Chat would love to make the trip!

Leeann: It was so great to meet you this weekend, along with some of the people whose names I can now associate with an actual face instead of just an email address! And I’m still getting used to the new red hair (and I hope Intelligent Beauty will send the before and afters so I can post them on my blog). Your gorgeous hair needs no improvement!!
Congratulations on your award, too. Your blog is fantastic! I am wondering how everyone got their “beauty booty” home. Next time I think I’d better bring a bigger bag! My advice sisters blog is having some technical difficulties at the moment, but as soon as I can figure out what’s wrong, I’ll post some photos as well.

Denise: I enjoyed meeting you too! (see LeeAnn’s comment above so I don’t repeat myself because it all applies to you, too! You two have a wonderful working relationship that is an inspiration to all the rest of us and you do a great job of informing people about beauty on your blog. I hope to see you again in NYC in the Fall.
