Sex and the City — The Silver Screen’s Fashionable Females

Posted by Leeann at 4:16 pm

Okay, what I’m about to tell you may be shocking so don’t get crazy…I’m not a Sex and the City fan. Before you jump to conclusions and assume that I’m out of my mind, let me explain. It’s not that I dislike the show and am dreading the movie premiere, it’s just that I never got into it. So, you can categorize me as a girl who doesn’t know what she’s missin’.

Despite the fact that I know little to nothing about the characters, I do know that their fashion is superb, despite the sometimes out-there outfits. The few clips that I have seen of the pop culture phenom (television and movie) reflect the couture styles that most women only dream of draping themselves in. However, the clothes may be more easily attained than you think.

The ladies of Sex and the City

Take, for example, this Maggy London Printed Silk Dress. Miranda is pictured in it above, and you can purchase it for $150 on Dillards.com. So maybe the wardrobes of the Sex and the City starlets aren’t outrageously priced.

Despite the fact that I’m admittedly ignorant when it comes to Sex and the City’s characters and story plot, I did agree to catch a screening of the movie tonight with a friend. I can’t wait to see the amazing attire that these ladies flaunt!

Anybody else eager for this long-awaited flick?

I can’t belive you never got hocked o nthat show. Oh well, I did but about 1 year later. And, I can’t wait to go see it tomorrow night with my girl friend. The fashion is amazing but Carrie gets a little carried away and I can’t really imagine wearinf the clothes she wears on the streets. Maybe in NY would be ok. Or, if I have her 90 lbs body. But, either way, I loved the show and thanks for this post, good to know where to get some fab fashion! Great blog ;-)

I was never a fan of the show either. Mostly because I don’t have cable- just HD public TV (otherwise I’d be addicted to way too many new shows…lol). Anyhow, I’m glad to find you since I was feeling a bit lonely lately since everyone has been chattin’ about the movie. ;)

    Cheers,

Ooh, I’m actually a big fan of Sex and the City!! I think it’s amazing and really funny. Some of the clothes are to die for, but some are rather too outlandish. But apart from that, I love the camaderie that the girls share and the fab fashion. I have to admit that Miranda’s makeup is always fabulous as her makeup really complements her red hair
