With summer already upon us, it’s probably about that time to purchase a bathing suit; that is if you haven’t already taken the plunge. As for me, I hate buying swimsuits. Dressing room mirrors and barely there attire are so not my friend! However, I may have a solution to your summertime blues — Lisa Curran swimwear.

Lisa began creating bathing suits about 10 years ago, taking matters into her own hands after experiencing difficulty purchasing them for herself. She explains, “I could never find a bikini that fit well, and I wanted to be able to mix and match my tops and bottoms.”
The Spring/Summer Lisa Curran collection is very boho, circa 1970s, and is comprised of 16 styles. Italian fabric, vibrant colors, and retro cuts make these pieces a must-have for your wet and wild wardrobe. And just added to the line are summer dresses, also very bohemian and laid back. Paired with the swimsuits, you will be all set for summer.

As for the dread we often feel when purchasing these types of attire, don’t! Lisa offers some comfort with her line saying, “I always tell my customers, ‘Go swimsuit shopping when you feel your best. Go with a friend or someone you can trust to get the best opinion. And go to a place that has a good selection. Mixing and matching is always a plus.’
You can pick up your own body-friendly Lisa Curran swimwear (suit and dresses) at Barneys, Saks Fifth Avenue, specialty boutiques, and via www.lisacurranswim.com.

What if you take your husband and he says, “What ever you want”. I really want to make him happy and myself. The bathing suits I like he says “what ever you want” and the bathing suits he says to get I don’t feel comforatable in them. Who do I please? HELP!!!!

Hi Vallee! Thanks for the comment/question =) I’d say that you have to feel comfortable in whatever bathing suit you purchase, you’re the one waering it. Maybe you can mix and match to meet in the middle (if you are interested in two pieces). If you aren’t sure about the suits that he chooses, maybe choose something similar that you like. And, if you are talking about one pieces, maybe you can go with the bathing suit that he likes, but then get a great cover up that may help you to feel better about the look.
Hope that helps!!

I looked at those suits, and there is no way I could wear any of them. They look like they are meant for women with a great shape. I’m 61 years old, (don’t look it)and need a suit is for the more mature woman. I’ve gained weight because of my meds, so I need a suit that’s more modest. I feel self conscious about my body especially in a bathing suit.
