Having a problem being a chic mom? Feel down, frumpy, unappreciated? Well I suggest you pick up a book called “The Chic Mom’s Guide to Feeling Fabulous” by Nina Sutton. While reading this book, a few friends with children came to mind. So I thought I’d pose a question: As a mom, how do you stay chic on your personal budget?

Here are some of the great answers I received:
Denice, mom to a 5-year-old- “I use sites such as Beauty Chat and Total Beauty to see what works for women my age and what people seem to like and dislike. I never buy a product I have not read up on, or asked around about!”
Jacquie, a mom of two- “I never try a new skin or hair care product unless I have a coupon for it. That way I don’t feel as guilty if I don’t like it. I love waking up on Sunday morning, taking my cup of coffee, a bowl of oatmeal and the paper outside to look over the coupons. It is a little quiet time for me that is saving the family money.”
Leisa, who is a mother of a 6 and 9-year-old- “The best thing to make this mother of two feel chic on her personal budget is a nice relaxing pedicure with no kids or husband around.” (They like them as much as she does.)
With their answers in mind, I recommend “The Chic Mom’s Guide to Feeling Fabulous” as a great resource for us moms who are feeling a bit blah. The reading is easy; you can even jump around from chapter to chapter. Being the mother of a teenage son, I thought this book was a great guide for a variety of topics, ranging from making dinner, to organizing your bills, to making time for you and your husband. Even though some items were geared more towards new moms, there were still a lot of great ideas and things that helped me look and feel Chic.
