Got Scars? Try Mederma® Cream + SPF 30

Are you looking for something to get rid of that nasty scar? Well, while at the recent ASAPS convention, I found this great product called Mederma ®.

Mederma introduced a new cream this year called Mederma Cream + SPF 30. According to the company, this is a 2-in-1 product that answers the need for scar therapy and sun protection, all at the same time. Mederma Cream + SPF 30 works to soften, smooth, and reduce the appearance of old and new scars. It also protects scars from the sun’s harmful UV rays, which can discolor and worsen the appearance of scars. It is safe for sensitive skin and the only scar-reducing product with SPF 30.

Sounds like this is right up my alley! I have my fair share of scars, from small scrapes to my more serious breast reduction and gallbladder surgeries. I wish I had found this when those were fresh, this would have been perfect! I was always diligent in putting sunscreen on my scars, but never knew there was such a thing as an actual scar reducer cream!

Since I did not have any “new” scars upon receiving my sample from the ASAPS show I attended, I asked my co-worker to try it. Coty is a young lady (in her early 20’s) and was eager to try it out for me. Here is what she had to say:

“I used Mederma for about a month and a half, applying it twice daily. I applied it to many different problem areas: old acne scars, old scars on my feet and newly developing scars on my knee. I found that it can also be used on stretch marks.

It takes awhile to apply the cream because I had to rub it in for a good half a minute to really get it soaked it, plus the cream is white so I didn’t want it to dry and be crusty. The cream smells good and it tingles a little bit, makes you feel like it’s really working. Overall I liked it; I saw results and would recommend it.”

Thanks Coty for helping me out, and for documenting your trial of the Mederma Cream + SPF 30. I am super excited to tell all my friends about this product — especially since many of us are in our mid-30s, and are looking to plastic surgery procedures to regain our youthful appearances. This line will definitely help aid in our recovery!

I’ve been using the regular old Mederma® for a few months on a fairly new scar and recently saw this new formula with SPF. I’ve been wanting to try it because I’ve often wondered if I’m not getting the results I had hoped for because the sun is actually TANNING my scar.

I have heard that the sun will discolor a scar. Maybe this would be a good fit! I was also told to always put sun screen on my scars.

These are great pics and show clearly how the scar healed. way to go. I also know that Bromeline (contained in pineapple) helps to heal scars. It even cleared up a wart I had on my hand after only two applications.
