Vinotherapie

Posted by Sara at 8:55 am

To me, there is nothing more relaxing than enjoying a glass of wine after a long day. That one sip of good wine, tasting all the different flavors as they roll down your tongue, can make a bad day disappear within an instant. For a more invigorating experience, I like to enjoy a warm bubble bath along with my glass of wine; if I get some good music flowing in the background, like my favorite Frank Sinatra or Nat King Cole (only the classics pair up with wine and bathing), even better! I am infamous for soaking my long days of trial and trouble with a glass of wine and of course, a warm bubble bath.

Splash into some wine to get that skin you have always wanted.

One particular evening, when I was exalting with my bad day regimen, I spilled some wine in the bath; I started wondering what it would be like to bathe in wine. I had read that Marilyn Monroe used to bathe in champagne, and Desperate Housewife’s star Terri Hatcher takes red wine baths. She just pours a glass of red wine in her bath and soaks for about 20 minutes. The polyphenols found in grapes jump-start circulation to reveal healthier skin. If we have wine, what do we need BOTOX ® and chemical peels for? We can keep our skin fresh and glowing with the rejuvenating and refreshing taste and smell of wine!

Although, I would love to throw some wine in with my rubber ducky and me while we bathe, I would absolutely hate to waste good wine. Instead I discovered vinotherapie, beauty products for your skin that are made out of the same ingredients as wine.

Vinotherapie, also referred to as wine therapy, is not only intended to help you relax (just like a glass of wine), but also restore and rejuvenate the skin; in other words, fight the signs of aging and wrinkles. This type of therapy all lies in the essence of the grape. The seeds, skin, and leaves of a red grape contain antocyanosides, polyphenols, and procyanidols, which have been proven to release more antioxidants (anti-free radicals), than that of Vitamin E. These antioxidants fight the signs of aging by restoring collagen and elastic fibers, which could possibly help you to hold off on that facelift for a couple more years than expected.

If you are having a bad day and need to relax or just for fun, try out some of these great vinotherapie products!

For the red wine drinkers you can try Caudalie’s VinoPerfect ® cabernet scrub, which is a natural scrub that defines, softens, drains, and nourishes the skin. Caudalie products can be found at Sephora. If red wine is a little bitter, you can soften your skin with the sweet smell of Napa Soap Company’s Shea Cuvee Body Butter, which is infused with white wine, grape seed oil and shea butter. To soak up a long day, you can enjoy Victoria’s Essentials Burgundy Bath Soak, which is richly infused with wine extracts and a blend of minerals from the land and sea. Overall, it will give you a natural way to soften skin

Nourish and define your skin with Caudalie’s cabernet scrub. For the after bath experience, to give your skin the complete wine tasting experience, check out other Vinotherapie products by Caudalie, such as their hand treatments, body lotions and creams, and cellulite treatment, all made from the glandular wine grape.

So for those of you who are wine enthusiasts like me, you can enjoy the best of both worlds, a wine bath and a glass of wine, get great skin in the course of it! For all of you non wine drinkers, well, now you can possibly find a love for the sweet essence that it brings.

And to think, I thought my bad day regimen was just my way of relaxing, now I can turn it into a whole different experience. Great wine + a warm bath = healthy skin!

Vinotherapie has brought a new meaning to bubble baths and wine.

personally I’m not too big of a wine fan. Although I do like the smell, I just can’t seem to take more then a couple sips of most wine. My husband’s sister and her fiance are very into their wines and I’m sure this would make a perfect ‘getaway’ bithday or christmas gift!

Hi Sara, Love the post! Welcome to Beauty Chat – I love this place! As for myself, I do LOVE wine and trying it in a bath sounds absolutely delicious. I have used red wine on my face as part of a facial and found it to be invigorating. And then of course drank what was left (teehee). Again, thanks for the great post and I look forward to trying some of these fabulous ideas!
