RAW Natural Beauty

Posted by Denice at 3:30 pm

Mineral makeup is all the rage these days, but how do you know which one is right for you? They all seem so similar, what makes one stand out? RAW Natural Beauty has developed a mineral make up line that does stand out. RAW combines nature and science to deliver a powerful, clinically proven, plant-derived ingredient, which has an organic base for their skin care line.

RAW Natural Beauty

RAW Minerals delivers a natural color that complements any skin tone, while nourishing with the active botanicals, which leaves the skin on your face smooth, firm, and glowing!

The RAW Mineral line consists of:

RAW Mineral Glow: Light-as-air minerals lend natural warmth to skin for an instant healthy glow that subtly obscures imperfections.

RAW Active Veil with SPF 18: Sheer, translucent minerals help set foundation and provide SPF 18 protection while diffusing light for an airbrushed look that lasts all day.

RAW Active Mineral Foundation: Mineral pigments blend effortlessly into skin for smooth, even, natural-looking coverage with a weightless, silky feel.

I had a few of my fellow Beauty Chatters also try it. Since receiving RAW at the Total Beauty Summit back in May, I have been using it and like it, so I figured I should share my new find, and see what others thought about it. Here is what they had to say:

Andrea: I really enjoyed the RAW mineral makeup. It made my skin feel smooth and light. However, I think liquid foundation is still best for heavy coverage. RAW mineral makeup works great for those days that only light coverage is needed. I have normal to oily skin and RAW minerals did a great job at shine control. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who requires light to medium coverage.

RAW Active Mineral Foundation

Stephanie: I have never used face make up until I discovered mineral makeup. When I had the chance to try RAW Minerals I really loved the coverage it gave me. Raw Minerals blends so easily and gives my skin a special glow.

Jacquie: I love mineral makeup. There are so many options out there now that choosing one is hard. Raw Minerals is nice, but I do not feel it has the coverage I usually like. It is really light, fresh, and clean, but if you want full coverage, I suggest trying a different brand.

If you are looking for an environmentally safe makeup line with good coverage, you will find it with RAW. Check out their expanded line on their Web site.

It is far superior to Bare Escentuals.
I love that they give you 2 shades to mix & match and the foundation brush is fabulous!

I”ve been using it for a week and I have roseacea- it didn’t agravate it as most makeups have. I’m 65 and it has gotten me many comments like” What are you doing – you look so much younger”- Besides my skin feels better and less irritated.

I am extremely disappointed by this company’s policies and product. I take great pride in my skin care and research fully before deciding on a product. Unfortunately, this was one case in which my dedication to the fine lines must have slipped.

I found Raw Natural Beauty while shopping to find an alternative to my current mineral foundation. This company offered a nifty promo where you can try the product for 30 days and if you dislike the product, you just return the jars. Seems like a good deal right? WRONG!

First I’ll talk about the products: To get the same amount of coverage that I get with my current brand I have to use twice the amount of the product. The RAW product is more than $10 more than my current brand and it comes with a much smaller amount, which means me spending more money on fewer products that are not as effective. Basic math tells me that I should just stick to my current product.

Secondly: When you sign up for the trial, you automatically get signed up for some sort of monthly shipment. If you forget to cancel the trial or just didn’t have the time, they automatically bill you and ship you the products that you didn’t ask for. A well as billing you for the products they sent you originally. So you are looking at over $200 if you forget to call this company.

Luckily, I remembered just in time to call. The young lady canceled my subscription and told me that I have to pay for return shipping of their products and it has to get to them within 11 days. Even if I had the luxury of getting to the post office within working hours, I would have to pay priority to ensure the products would get there within their tight time constraint. When I asked the young lady if there was another option, she told me that I could just keep the jars and be billed a discount.

To me, this is the worst customer service. As if I didn’t already think this company was a scam, I now realize that they are not concerned about their customers, just their money.

I tried these products and found them no different than other types of makeup. Since I normally do not wear make up the outrageous price of $90 for just a start up was way out there. Now suddenly they are charging my bank account $2 evey couple of days for ????? Be very careful when you get started with this company.

This is the biggest scam. They billed me $90.00 for what? It was free trial
and now they want me to send it back. Terrible misleading representation of a product. They suck you in with the ‘free’ then bill you for a product that you don’t want, read the fine print before you sign up. They just want their money.

    Ladies,
I do really appreciate your comments, you all just make me think and not order any free product. I’ll keep using my current product which is more reliable for the years of experience and cost less than $10.00

Let’s be more careful when we buy stuff on internet.

The raw natural beauty makeup that charges $90 for their foundation and $70 for their lotion if you don’t cancel their free trial offer in time: Billed me even after I canceled and sent the items back. So I called in and had them fix the billing. The lady who answers phones is actually quite nice. They did receive my return (low and behold), but customer service is very poor at making sure to finish their side of cancellations properly. I had even placed a sticker with the cancellation # on each of the 6 vials that I sent back to make sure they couldn’t accidentally forget to place my order as returned in their computer system. To “properly cancel” you have to call in for a cancellation #, which you have to put on the envelope used to send their product back to them. You have to pay for postage to get the trial and to return it. “Free” is misleading when you have to pay postage. This is not a no-questions asked company either, off the bat I was asked why I wanted to return it. I wanted to try it, but can’t afford the outrageous price. So I told them I just was not happy with it. I really does take a lot of application to hide blemishes (of which I have many). However, it is still better compared to regular oily foundation makeup which makes me break out. Since I had to pay postage, and do the whole post office trip, I felt I paid for the “free” product. I bought vials with sifters on ebay to hold their product in, and returned them their empty vials. I continue to use their product (which I paid for..right…), but I don’t think I will ever buy the product on my own accord. With my blemishes, it takes too much product and too much time to apply it. I just don’t wear makeup, and even this stuff will be in my cabinet for probably 4 years or more till it is used up. Perhaps this is more for women who already have nice complexions and only want an extra non-heavy make-up look. They sell other products with heavier foundations and with trial offers, but I rather not go through the hassle again and deal with what I have instead. I don’t want to pay for another expensive product that doesn’t hit the spot.

To get a cancellation # (called a return merchandise authorization- RMA) call 866 603 9152, 7am-4pm PST M-Fri, or log in at http://www.signatureraw.com using your USERNAME and PASSWORD and follow the instructions on how to return your products (even if the jars are empty [their advertisement]). Their address is 28516 Livingston, Valencia, CA 91355.

After you get the RMA #, it must arrive to them by 14 days following the issue of the rma #, or you will only get store credit(so they say). The package must clearly show the RMA #.

Lots of loop holes, I know, but good luck to all you who need to return!

No wonder this company is making it difficult to cancel; when people like KK are stealing their product…if you can not afford it you should not order it. You certainly did not pay for it because you paid the shipping. You weren’t ripped off you are ripping people off.

  18. Kaylyn

    January 17, 2009 at 6:44 am

    Dear MM:

You made an accusation about keeping a product with a cancellation is stealing. May I remind you, if you had not ordered the product, that states: “If for any reason during the 30-day trial period you are dissatisfied,… simply return your products (even if the jars are empty!).

Actually, MM, it is illegal to reuse cosmetics that have been used. It is wise for KK to keep the product. I wonder what the company does with returned products, which I am going to do on Monday. I already received my 4 trial products a couple days ago. I burned my eyes, caused my face to flush seriously, and when I washed it off, every pore burned and stung.

Folks who have returned the product, my MRA states to return the 7-piece discovery kit. I received four vials of product, 2 brochures, and 1 CD. I also received 3 brushes, which are free. Do you know what they mean by the 7-piece discovery kit?

I don’t think it’s fair for folks to complain about the terms of the free trial offer. Read the fine print first before you order. If you want to cancel, then follow their rules. You’ll be fine. I actually think the products are a good deal, but that’s me. Your mileage may vary.

Blog is very nice and informative. I am very glad to comment on this blog.
Before jumping on the bandwagon of several natural beauty treatments, it is necessary for you to understand your skin type and the changes that you wish to make for your look. Accept your unique qualities and make the most of it by using natural beauty products or even following natural beauty care tips. It is not necessary to run around searching for beauty in expensive beauty products, instead explore the “natural goodness” of ingredients from your kitchen and refrigerator.

I like the Raw Natural Beauty products, but their business practices are repellant. I ordered what is clearly displayed on their website as a Free Trial for both a makeup starter kit, and a skin care sample. I was charged $38. At this point, I did not complain. I asked to extend the free trial so that I could see how my skin reacted, and they were very nice on the phone. I called back before the trial expired and explained that I would rather do custom orders rather than autoship and they said that was okay. I ordered some more product, and then found a mysterious $78 charge on my credit card, in addition to the bill for what I had ordered. I emailed the company and they said that that was for the “free” trial. So, after billing me $38 for the “free” trial (which I did not complain about), they tried to charge me an additional $78–A total of $116 for my FREE trials. I don’t know why this company has to resort to such sleazy practices, because I would buy their products and pay a fair price for them if they would stop trying to rip me off.

Well thank you ladies. I have used bare essentials for two years and love it, but thouth I might try this one for a change. Now I will not. I like to go in and pick my colors and hate paying shipping fees.

READ THE INFORMATION ! This company has clearly stated the trial period and what it expects of you as a consomer. If you get billed. It’s your fault! It is all explained if you take a minute to read. I guess some people just learn the hard way.

Well well ladies. I have to tell you this makeup is not all it is cracked up to be. Once you waste half of it opening it, it is just like the over the counter makeup you can buy. This free trial is NOT FREE! When you cancel a “FREE TRIAL” they still charge your card and then want to tell you they can’t give you your money back. I will do everything I can to let everyone know not to order from this company. I have been screwed and am NOT Happy about it.

    March 2, 2009 at 2:14 pm

Oh and when I first sent off for this no where did it say free trial, it said free kit. It did not say anything about sending back or canceling it within 30 days. When I recieved it in the package it let me know I would be charged $90 if not sent back. Had that been part of the original instructions I would have NEVER GOTTEN IT!! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!! I HOPE THEY GET STOPPED!!!

Thank you to everyone who is taking the time to read Denice’s article on Raw Natural Beauty!

After reading everyone’s comments, it is apparent to me how important customer service is to all of you (me too!), and that everyone’s experience is unique based on several factors. Please note that the Beauty Chatters’ feedback and testimonials are based strictly on their own opinion about this line. And remember, everyone’s skin and situation is different with certain products…

Should your questions and frustrations still bother you, maybe it is worth your time to contact someone other than customer service employees. Have you tried that? I don’t know about you, but when I am upset about something, be it my last banking statement or one of those free trial deals, I prefer to speak with someone in management who can shed better light on my problem.

Unfortunately, it sounds like many of you are to the point that nothing can take away from your experience with RAW Natural Beauty. Sometimes, though, a negative experience CAN turn around. Please note that RAW Natural Beauty is taking notice of your thoughts, which you can see a comment from a rep up above.

It is important that you feel comfortable sharing your experience with those who are also beauty and skincare “junkies,” which is why we have chosen NOT to censor your thoughts.

While I cannot ask that you stop leaving comments that may put the company in a poor light, please just be mindful to all of our readers. Beauty Chat is a place to chat and share in a positive setting.

Beware of dealing with Raw Natural Beauty!!! I purchased the trial of these products; tried them for 30 days, & decided that I really did not like how little coverage they actually had. I received an RMA to send products back, which I did on 11 Feb. I checked USPS delivery confirmation to be sure that they received my return which they did on 13 Feb. I was told that it takes approx. 2 weeks to process returns which would take it out to 27 Feb.
WELL, I checked my online banking yesterday, 04 March, & they actually had the nerve to charge my account. Boy, was I fuming!!!
I called the company this a.m. & was told that a refund could not be processed until tomorrow, and then it would take about 3 days to show back into my account.
This is TOTALLY b.s. as they never should have taken the money in the first place since they recv’d their products back.
    BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!

I have to agree with Beth~ I’ve been using Bare Escentuals for almost 6 years now & absolutely love it!!! It atleast has some coverage… unlike Raw Natural Beauty. I thought I’d give Raw Natural Beauty a try though as they stated that it was ‘good for your skin’. To be very honest, I noticed more problems with my skin while trying their products (grrr).
I will DEFINITELY be going back to using Bare Escentuals… atleast their product lives up to expectations!!!

I’ve been researching Raw Minerals as it sounded better than the minerals I currently use. I am pretty happy with my brand but I want more coverage. I’m afraid I may not get it after reading some of your responses about coverage and still pay more than I currently do. I wish this product was easier to come by to try, and make a consious choice.

I’m so angry to have found a charge of $98.32 on my account this morning. So the “free sample” offer that I spent $4.95 to have shipped to me is not that. Have to again fork out postage to return these tiny bottles back (they’re full size?). And after spending 15 minutes on hold to speak to someone who tried selling me more crap!!! I will never have a good taste in my mouth about RAW and will spend my time and energy telling my friends and family to stay away from such horrible sale practices! Nobody has extra money for such dealings! This is really below the belt people!

Don’t fall for the FREE OFFER bull – If you don’t return it within 30 days they charge you big bucks!!!

  38. Scammed

    May 28, 2009 at 12:25 pm

Buyer or should I say “tryer” beware!!!

This company is mischievous and deceptive in their ads. They are practicing theft in the business world and are taking advantage of consumers all over. They say “free” but it isn’t free at all. They rope you in and tie you down and make you jump thru all sorts of hoops so that it is impossible to return anything on time. The reps lie and don’t work with you at all! Their make-up is over-priced and sub-par. Do some research and you will find that they stole the “Raw Minerals” name from a small and honest cosmetics company. You will also find that they violate federal law with the “membership” type of business they are. This company should go out of business and they will as soon as the complaints get too much for them to handle. At that point they will assume another “brand name” and scam people all over again. This is why their website looks professional, because of the blood-money it’s built on. They know people don’t have time to deal with their fraud and would rather let the hundred bucks slide and chalk it up to a life lesson. But really I think what goes around comes around 10 times heavier upon the head of the deceiver.

And those of you who are defending this company… do you even value your time? How much do you make per hour at work? Multiply that by the time wasted in dealing with banks, researching, writing on this blog, and “trying” to contact them over the phone and online. Then add two way shipping charges. Hello? IT’S NOT FREE!!!

Real business people look at this company and get angry because they make the honest businesses out there struggle to attract new online business because the bar of “trust” for online purchases is lowered.

In the end God wins. Evil doesn’t prosper for long.
