You all know that I’m all about feeling beautiful from the inside out, which is why I am absolutely in love with Carmindy’s new book, Get Positively Beautiful – The Ultimate Guide to Looking and Feeling Gorgeous. I must admit that I’ve never actually watched TLC’s What Not to Wear, so I didn’t know very much about their makeup artist. However, after reading this book, I am a Carmindy fan!
This book is all about playing up your own individual assets, whether it be your lips, eyes, or prominent chin. Carmindy tells readers to be positive about their unique assets and forget about those so-called flaws we see in the mirror.
In Get Positively Beautiful, readers are given tips on how to use “Carmindy Vision” to pinpoint their best features and make them shine. There are even examples of makeovers done by Carmindy that show just how beautiful anyone can be.
Sounds like an amazing book, right? Well, Beauty Chat is giving five lucky readers a chance to win a copy. Just leave a comment below telling us how you play up your best feature. The winners will be announced on December 5th. Good look and stay gorgeous!

Right on! I’ve been stockpiling copies of this book to give to my gal-pals and sister for Xmas. It’s high time we all learn to appreciate our unique faces and to play them up with gorgeous, natural-looking makeup, Carmindy-style!

Finally. I was wondering if she would ever have something like that. I love What Not to Wear, she’s always doing things that seem like common sense. And I love how she makes eyebrows look. She knows exactly how to make them work for every face. I like to play up my eyes with light eyeshadow, since I have medium/dark skin. I top it off with lip gloss and mascara for a more natural look.

My best feature would be my very long eyelashes so I always make it a point to curl them and apply really rich mascara. The result? Big, bright, fabulous eyes!

I watch Carmindy and learn tips to play up my eyes. I recently got my hair cut and dyed and people are once again asking if my daughter and I are sisters. Of course we are! I got my brows waxed too, which gives me an instant eye lift and makes me lose a year or two. I need all the help I can get. I feel great and attitude sure helps.

My best feature is my eyes and I play them up (and have been for more years than the term has been around!) by always wearing a “smokey eye”. I wear glasses (blind as a bat) and, altough I have worn contacts in the past, my blue eyes aways seemed to get lost behind them. I find that if I do a “smokey eye”, my eyes are the first thing people notice and compliment me on! I don’t use just dark shades: I also use taupes and lighter colors, depending on my mood and the occasion. I’m middle-aged and discovered this little trick over 35 years ago!

Who doesn’t want to be positivley beautiful? I’ve been trying some of her trick to get my make up just right for the holiday season! I’d love to give this to one of my girl friends for part of her x-mas gift!

I like that the book focuses on beautifying your features and not doing yourself up to look different than you do. We’re all beautiful!

I think that the key is to keep it simple. Basic Lashes, Lips, and Blush keeps a look polished. You can’t really go wrong, and it’s a quick fix to not wanting to go outside looking dead.
