Exactly one week ago, I hit a milestone birthday…25 years! While many of my friends and colleagues were asking if I was getting sad or depressed, I was actually feeling pretty great about turning the big two-five. My insecure and awkward years are far behind me and I feel like I’ve come into my own; both inside and out.
However, I have to admit that working with some pretty fashionable and makeup savvy ladies has definitely helped! Beauty Chat’s resident fashion guru, Elana, has offered some great tips to wear things that I’m normally afraid of. For example, the bright red tank I donned on my night out to celebrate was something I may have passed up a couple of years ago.
And my makeup? Well, I have Dre, our very own beauty junkie, to thank for my newly found love of color. Seeing her wear some fabulous shades herself, and being a major makeup lover myself, I’ve been trying out some new things and loving the results! I loved it so much that I even took Audrey, a fellow “Beauty Chatter,” to our local Bobbi Brown counter for a little makeover.
So what about that inner beauty I’m always talking about? Well, I’ve got my awesome family and wonderful guy to thank for that. Then there are all my friends who always have something encouraging to say, a girl can’t live without her gals! Having people that believe in you and support you definitely helps create a more positive attitude. Being confident in myself in all I do shows on the outside too.
How does everyone else feel about hitting milestone birthday? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

Why thanks Jennifer!
When I turned 25, it was a bizarre mix of emotions. I was excited to hit the mature milestont in my life, but I still felt like I was 18! I started to feel expectations, like should I be getting married? Are kids next on the list? Now at 28, I have accepted that everyone makes decisions based on where they are in life vs. the expectations of what I ASSUME is what a 25 year old’s mentality should be. Anyway, that’s my 2 cents. Congrats! And I hope you enjoy this fabulous. I wish I could made it to your fun night. Maybe your 26th, we will celebrate in style!

And wow, you think an editor would spell correctly! That’s what fast typing and not re-reading does to you.

I feel like a scumbag. I forgot to call you. I knew it was coming up because as you know I did slave over a cake last year, but I forgot. I’m sorry. I hope you had a nice day. You look really pretty in your picture. And you don’t look any different from last year! Keep it that way cuz now you’re 25 for every birthday that comes.
