Pull Your Caboose Into “The Slimming Station”

Myself and Jana: Before and after our weight loss

I have struggled with weight loss for years, trying just about any thing there is out there without having to consider any plastic surgery procedures.  My friend Jana told me about a weight loss book she had been reading and suggested I read it; so I did.

The book is called “Why Weight Around” by Dr. Alwin C. Lewis. In the book, Dr. Lewis stresses that a portion controlled diet is the most effective strategy to losing weight.  He developed a two part weight loss program called “The Slimming Station.”

The first part is to read the book, which explains what the diet is and how it works.  The second part is to work one-on-one with a Slimming Station Coach; this helps maximize your success and maintain your goals. After both reading the book, Jana and I decided to try it.

Here is a quick overview of what we do (which we dubbed the “Five Bite Diet”):

-    Skip breakfast
-    Eat only twice a day, Lunch and Dinner. NO SNACKING!!
-    Each meal only consists of five bites each. (Bites not bigger than a bite size Snickers)
-    One bite of the day must be a good source of protein, such as chicken or steak
-    Take a multi-vitamin daily.
-    All drinks are to be low to zero calorie.

Even though this explanation seems pretty straight forward, I highly recommend reading the book or going to Dr. Lewis’s website before starting this diet.

Jana and I have had great success with this diet plan; though we haven’t completed step two of the program yet, we would love to in the future. We both lost 30lbs. by our sixth and seventh weeks.  I’ve never seen results this quickly.

Thanks, Jana, for introducing me to it, we’re doing great!

I am not sure if I would have the discipline to follow this diet plan, but the two of you look great! =)

I know the diet sounds “unconventional” but it works and if you read the book you totally get a better understanding of why “5 bites”. Dre couldn’t have said it better. I have lost a total of 40 pounds so far and I’m still going. I know others who have started the diet as well and have lost up to 10 pounds in the first week. This is definitely something to stay open minded about.

    Hi ladies,
question, did you stick to 5 bites just as it says or, did you find at times (weekends perhaps) that you ate a bit more?

Did you suffer any headaches the first few days?

You guys look great, but I have to be honest, this diet sounds ridiculous! Maybe I just need to read the book but it sounds like you’re just starving yourself. I lost 15 pounds by walking for 20 minutes every day and simply watching what I eat by writing it in a food log. I guess everyone is different as far as what diet works, but I really hope you guys aren’t starving yourselves )=

Tina, I do sometimes take more bites or just eat regular for the day. However, the diet suggests you don’t because once you start back up, it’s like starting all over again, and the first few days of the diet are the hardest.
L, At first, I also thought this diet sounded pretty ridiculous. However, the book does explain everything including why and how this diet is healthy. Thank you for your comments!!!

I’m not sure this is a very healthy diet to follow. I know forsure that if you eat regularly, at least 5 times a day, that it increases your metabolism. And if you do that with exercise you will see amazing changes in your body.

I think you should just cut down on your portions and exercise, exercise, exercise!

But congrats on the weight loss, hope you keep it off.

Gia, Thank you very much for your comment! I’ve heard that eating 5 small meals a day can boost your metabolism, along with lots of exercise. That sounds like a great way to maintain my weight loss. Also, exercise has been a huge help through my weight loss journey so far; I’ve learned to love it, especially kickboxing! Thanks again!

My spouse had 2 stomach sugeries. Make a soy (women) whey (men) protein shake or eat yogurt for breakfast. Eat plenty of fish. Fish oil is good for you. Fish is protein. Since you gain weight at night, try to eat a hot lunch w/salad, veg. and fish, chicken or steak. At night, eat by 6:00 pm. a snack. 1/2 a shake, yogurt, small salad, banana is potassium and can be put in the shake, or eat banana in evening. My spouse eats protein bars, as well. Hope this has helped. Ree Ree
