Protect and Correct Your Skin

Posted by Leeann at 7:17 am

Although the months are slowly getting cooler, it’s still important to protect your skin from the sun. Here at the Beauty Chat headquarters in Southern California, it’s actually still hot; therefore, it’s easy to remember to use sun block. But for those other regions of the world where it’s getting colder, it’s still vital to use precaution against the harmful affects of the sun.

My latest skin care choice has been DDF (Doctor’s Dermatologic Formula) Protect and Correct. It’s a UV moisturizer with SPF 15 that’s ideal for keeping skin healthy and beautiful. Not only does this UV moisturizer work to protect the skin, it is also designed to minimize existing sun damage. In fact, since the line was developed by a dermatologist, it is designed to “deliver effective results backed by professional knowledge.” More »

Problem Skin? That’s an Understatement!

Posted by Leeann at 8:05 am

I have always had bothersome blemishes; although it has improved over the years, there were many trips to the dermatologist back in the day.

I know it is “darkest before the dawn,” but I hate that when I try to adopt a skin care routine, the problem increases. Honestly, it makes me want to avoid washing my face altogether. To tell you the truth, I usually just remove my makeup and call it a night.

BUT, as a beauty editor, I am constantly receiving and trying out new products. Most of the time I do so apprehensively because I know that these tests will result in breakouts. However, I feel it my duty to give a fair review of the item in question so that readers can forgo buying products that don’t live up to their promises. More »

A Review of “The Women”

Posted by Sara at 4:11 pm

After watching “The Women” (which premiered on September 12th) with my fellow Beauty Chatter, Jennifer, two words came to mind: women empowerment.

The film is a remake of the 1939 classic film “Catfight” and is directed by Diane English. Having an all-female cast and production crew; starring some of Hollywood’s top women actresses, Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Eva Mendes, Bette Midler, and Candice Bergen, this movie was made for women, by women. Clinique 3-Step Skin Care System

Posted by Jennifer at 10:30 am

A few weeks ago, I was telling a friend that my current skin care products just weren’t doing anything for me. I had been using them for well over a year and didn’t really see any results. That’s when she mentioned the Clinique 3-Step skin care system. I wasn’t sure if it would do anything since I was already on a “3-step system” and wasn’t pleased, but after only four days, I was convinced!

What’s Your Idea of Perfection?

Posted by Jennifer at 12:29 pm

It is commonly assumed that men want to date or marry the “perfect woman” one day. But what exactly does “perfect” mean? When talking about appearance, many think tall, thin, blond, blue eyes, pouty lips, perky breasts, and a toned tush. But then you step into the real world and learn that it’s actually really hard to find this “perfect woman” without her undergoing some kind of plastic surgery.

Many people turn to plastic surgery for enhanced appearances. More »
