Such a delight recently attending the Four Seasons Hotel in LA for a Kip Morrison-sponsored event!
On the topic of “Next-Generation Women: Sex, Success, and Sensibility,” bestselling author Candace Bushnell (Sex and the City) shared witty girlfriend thoughts revolved around her creation of one of the most revolutionizing comedic-dramas on television, and the road to turning into “Mr. Big” herself!
Candace Bushnell also talked up her Sirius radio talk show, her new novel, Lipstick Jungle (and ahem, some insider info: you can look for this series to hit television soon!), and how she was first introduced to Botox ® Cosmetic. Apparently, covering an article on this facial injectable more than 10 years ago for Vogue prompted her to experiment with an, at the time, new way to achieve a youthful facial appearance! (Dr. Jacqueline Calkin followed Candace Bushnell’s discussion with new info on Radiesse ® … I will bring you more on this new facial filler soon!)

(Candace Bushnell speaking to myself and a few other inspired writers)
Looking forward to a new novel from one of the most delightfully-inspiring authors today? I am! However, I’m not sure if a new series could ever take my heart away from the fabulously nutty qualms involved with Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte…
P.S. Look for paperback early August
I scored an autographed copy in my gift bag from the luncheon!

I was totally smitten with Virginia Madsen’s character in the 2004 “Indiewood” film Sideways. Now, a few years later, I am loving her role with Keep the Wisdom. Lose the Lines ™ campaign possibly even more. You know, it probably takes a lot out of a person to admit that they’ve undergone some sort of facial rejuvenation, especially if he or she is a Hollywood favorite. So to see a woman step forward and promote the safety of aesthetic facial injectables is quite cool, I must say.
Of all the actresses out there seeking ways to maintain a youthful appeal, Virginia Madsen has not only admitted to receiving Botox ® Cosmetic and Juvederm ™, but is actually working with a foundation that aims to “educate women about the importance of seeking an aesthetic-specialty physician when considering these treatments and choosing products that are science-based and approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).”
And obviously for Virginia Madsen to take part in this cause, announcing the launch of the foundation on May 8; she is happy with the results of these facial fillers. What about everyone else? The use of injectable treatments is happening more often on more people than ever before. Actually 4.1 million people were treated by Botox ® Cosmetic in 2006, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). Yes, wow. Amidst the judgments and the pointed fingers of who-is-getting-what, there are millions of people who have kept an open-mind and decided to take the plunge (I mean, the needle). So I have to agree with the overall stance of this foundation: educate yourself, choose FDA-approved treatments, and locate a specialist with great skill level. Mucho importante!
Because as great as the idea of “shedding years from a person’s face” sounds, should I ever decide that I want to use a dermal filler for facial rejuvenation, I’m still gonna take the stance: What works for Virginia Madsen, may not work for me!
