Epicare So Easy ~ Facial Hair Be Gone

Posted by Stephanie at 4:44 pm

Epicare So Easy

Ladies, you do not have to tweeze those pesky chin hairs one by one with tweezers anymore. I have come across a great devise for facial hair removal, the Epicare So Easy. So petite, this devise will fit in your purse, makeup bag, or even your pocket if you really feel the need to keep it with you. This facial hair remover is a small-coiled spring with a handle on each end. To use it, you simply bend it in the shape of an upside down U and twist away. More »

Queen Bee’s Shaving Grace – Jodi Shays

Posted by Denice at 4:01 pm

Shaving is a chore that has to be done (okay, it doesn’t have to, but should be), and if you decide to adopt other methods, such as waxingQueen Bee Waxing Buzz off Bumps™ For Pesky Ingrowns or threading, it can be a little uncomfortable and expensive. Personally, I stick to shaving. My skin is not super sensitive, but does react negatively from time to time. I am on a quest to find that perfect razor, but until then, I have found a fabulous alternative to those pesky ingrown hairs.

Queen Bee Waxing has a product that every girl should have in her bathroom, Buzz off Bumps™ For Pesky Ingrowns. Buzz off Bumps is a round, pre-medicated pad that is easy and fast to use. All you have to do is swipe the pad over the area 24 hours after shaving or waxing, and let dry. These little pads can be used everywhere! Your bikini area, underarms, and yes, men can use them too! Looking for a Clean Shave Guys?

Posted by Mellori at 7:00 pm

If you haven’t already been introduced to Gillette Fusion Power razor, then gentlemen please make yourselves fully acquainted with this “5 plus the precision of 1” bad boy. At Beauty Chat, we know that razor bumps can be a blow to your testosterone-driven confidence, but with this battery-powered, lightweight device, you can depend on less irritation and more comfort. We asked some of our fellow men over at PlasticSurgery.com exactly what they thought of the razors. Here’s what they had to say:

Gillette Phenom for Men

(P.S. Ladies, this is a great gift to throw into the Valentine’s gift box of yours [male] truly)

Kevin (Lead Creative Designer): “Shaving the old-fashioned way is something I don’t do often since I’m more of an electric razor kind of guy for the speed and convenience. I would definitely spend a couple more minutes to grab some shaving cream and take advantage of a real shave once in a while vs. the speedy not-so-close results I get from the electric. There’s a huge difference!” More »

Venus Embrace: A Smooth Approach to Shaving

Posted by Leeann at 5:17 pm

Venus Embrace Shaving SystemShaving is a love-hate relationship, and nothing puts more of a damper on freshly-shaven legs than irritating cuts (especially when wearing a skirt)!

Well, here is a solution to your hair-removal dilemma: Venus ® Embrace™. This is a brand new razor, which just hit stores this month. It has five blades and a “Protective Ribbon of Moisture.”

So Elana and I gratefully tried out the latest creation from Venus, and yes, we were both pleased. Knowing that my friends use Venus razors gave me that instant trust factor. She appreciated the lotion-like feeling that the razor provided and I loved that I wasn’t left with shaving wounds. We have both admittedly used cheap razors (you know when you’re in a rush at the store and you just grab the cheapest bag of razors you can find?), and we can attest that the motto proves true, “You get what you pay for.” More »

An Intimate Shave: Not so Taboo After All

Posted by Mellori at 5:29 pm

An Intimate Shave is a Woman's Right!Televised and print media often paint the ideal of women shaving creams as the answer to ooh la la soft and glossy legs.

Granted, such brands as Gillete Satin Care or Skintimate is a shower must-have in order keep those cacti-textured hairs from sprouting on noticeable areas of the body. What about, however, that ultra-sensitive part of our body that requires grooming for many of us modern-day women?

Of course your local nail shop lady is more than happy to perform the often tear-jerking task of “wax on, wax off” down there. Although pain comes with the territory of a bikini wax (men, bring to mind Steve Carell’s improv-waxing session in The 40-yr old Virgin), the baby-smooth result is definitely worth the “pain is beauty” proverb.

Is it, however, worth the biweekly average price of up to $50 (at more upscale beauty salons, up to $100), not including tip? For the budget fashionista, this may definitely burn a hole in the pocket of your Freedom of Choice jeans that you relentlessly scoured for at a discounted price.

Coming from an avid fashion disciple who must discipline herself to a limited number of card swipeage, spending $100 per month on grooming a rather inconspicuous area of my body seems a little draining. Whereas I would ideally love to say to heck with it all, and pay the posh price of laser hair removal to permanently rid myself of body hair, unfortunately I am not afforded that luxury. So comes forth the task of searching for inexpensive, yet quality products that are gentle for the skin, yet strong enough to reduce a bristly quality.

Feeling beautiful on the inside and out

While the following shaving creams specially target that intimate part of your body, they can also be used for other areas as well (bear in mind, some of these products are forthrightly named, but their titles have no bearing on the quality of the formula enclosed): Intimate Moments, Intimo Romance Total Body Shave Cream, Smooth Intimate Shave Cream, and Coochy Body Shave Cream. Although these products may be hard to find in your nearby drugstore, they have worked wonders for many women; so putting your Nancy Drew skills to the test might be worth it for these softly-formulated goodies, not to mention their inexpensive price range ($7.95-$17.99 depending on the ounces and where you buy it). Definitely, a luxury body care steal, wouldn’t you agree?

One well-known online resource where you can find the above shaving products is Amazon. Also, you might want to search for their respective Web sites, where you can also read up on great tips on how to perform an easy and effective shave. So, my glam gals on a budget – don’t be afraid to explore these grooming options, and save a pretty penny for those fall-inspired ankle boots for your oh-so-pretty feet.

Happy shaving!

Dr. 90210 | Season 5 | Episode 14

Posted by Leeann at 1:38 pm

Dr. 90210 summary on iEnhance.com! This week on Dr. 90210:

Dr. David Matlock is our featured Dr. 90210 plastic surgeon on episode 14. Although it has been a few weeks since we caught up with him, he seems to be on the same dating path as he was before: having fun with no pressure of a commitment! Despite the attempts of his daughter Jessica to convince him to settle down, Dr. Matlock has no interest in monogamy and intends to take advantage of his freedom.

In addition to his dating life, we also know that Dr. Matlock’s practice is thriving as well. This week we see how his surgical skills positively impact the lives of his patients.

The most moving segments of this episode of Dr. 90210 were those that contained breast cancer survivor Greta, Dr. Gary Motykie’s patient. What she has gone through in life, and what we see on this one-hour show, is amazing and touching.

And of course Dr. Will Kirby is back, treating another one of his famous clients – a “Brady.” To find out which member of the “Bunch” relied on our dermatologist for cosmetic improvements, check out my in-depth recap found on iEnhance.com.

The Art of Eyebrow Threading

Posted by Mellori at 2:57 pm

Ziba Beauty: Not Just a Salon, but a Gateway to Eastern Beauty

Threading of the eyebrows

Relative to the notion that the eyes are the window to the soul, the eyebrow serves as a frame that creates symmetry, as well as exudes mystery. As Ziba Beauty comments, it is “a silent decision maker,” which can alter the shape of the entire face. Suffice to say, your eyebrows should be modified in accordance to your unique facial structure. With the ancient method of eyebrow threading, the eyebrow is treated as a canvas where the rightly constructed shape can transform the appeal of your eyes – hence, the Art of Threading ®.

Threading of upper lip

Stemming from India, threading is arguably a less painful and more exact way of facial hair removal. Mimicking a kind of “Tai Chi” style of movement, the threader swiftly, yet precisely manipulates the eyebrow with the artistic use of cotton thread. Coupled with the steady fashion that requires both the mouth and hands of the threader, the cotton thread gently pulls each hair from its follicle; ultimately creating a smooth, clean surface. Although the history of threading is seemingly focused on the eyebrow, Ziba Beauty not only introduced threading to the West, but also adapted the method as a hair removal technique for all areas of the face.

Threading of the Chin

Ziba Beauty has broke new ground in helping to forever change the Western view of Eastern beauty. From its humble beginnings in 1986, Ziba is prominently expanding across Southern California, enhancing the natural beauty of many people – men and women alike.

As a regular visitor of Ziba Beauty in its Rancho Cucamonga location at Victoria Gardens (ask for Amy), I find threading to be a gift of beautification that fortunately made its way onto the West Coast. I am no longer a consumer of other forms of facial hair removal, like waxing or tweezing. In my book, threading allows you to step into a world of archaic beauty that can revitalize your face with the simplistic instrument of cotton thread.

The cost of eyebrow threading at Ziba Beauty ranges from $9 and up. Other parts of the face vary, starting as low as 5 bucks. Now, that’s an affordable luxury!

Other Southern California Ziba Beauty locations include Artesia, Cerritos, Downey, Lakewood, Santa Ana, and Long Beach.

This video showcases a typical visit to a Ziba Beauty Salon.
