Nail polish is a cosmetics item that most women, and some men, can’t get enough of. Many of us paint away, unaware of the repercussions that the polish may have on our health. But, did you know that almost all nail lacquers contain Formaldehyde, Toluene, and Phthalate (DBP) — chemicals that are carcinogenic and can cause serious health effects?
In a time when people are trying to be more “green,” cosmetics companies are beginning to understand that consumers expect more from the brands that they buy from. nubar is a line that was created with the idea that providing healthy alternatives is a must. More »

Although the months are slowly getting cooler, it’s still important to protect your skin from the sun. Here at the Beauty Chat headquarters in Southern California, it’s actually still hot; therefore, it’s easy to remember to use sun block. But for those other regions of the world where it’s getting colder, it’s still vital to use precaution against the harmful affects of the sun.
My latest skin care choice has been DDF (Doctor’s Dermatologic Formula) Protect and Correct. It’s a UV moisturizer with SPF 15 that’s ideal for keeping skin healthy and beautiful. Not only does this UV moisturizer work to protect the skin, it is also designed to minimize existing sun damage. In fact, since the line was developed by a dermatologist, it is designed to “deliver effective results backed by professional knowledge.” More »

There are some of us who love it and some of us who hate it: jogging…or however you would like to refer to it. Many of us just can’t get ourselves to jog, even though it is a great cardiovascular workout.
I used to be an avid soccer play; live, eat, breathe, soccer. However, once I realized I was never going to make it to the World Cup, I decided to just play it for fun, and usually only when I had down time. I used to always be in shape; yet, over the years I have seen my body let go from the effects of exercising “whenever I get the chance.” This means that playing soccer a couple times a week just is not enough to keep my girlish figure. Living and working in Southern California during the summer months means lots of sun, lots of heat, and lots of sweating. None of which I’m fond of in the least bit, yet having been here my entire life I’ve learned to cope. However, there’s one thing that I can’t seem to get over, the sweating.
Every year, I run to my local drug store in search of a new deodorant to help combat any smelliness. Luckily, I don’t have much to combat, but I do want to make sure I’m dry and fresh at all times.

Tired of that never-ending wedgie? Hate embarrassing panty lines? Then consider Commandos!
I’m sure you’ve all heard of the term “going commando,” especially if you were a fan of the TV Show “Friends.” But, just in case you aren’t keen on the expression, it means to go without undergarments.
There are many people who find underwear restricting. Additionally, some panties (thong underwear) have even been deemed unsanitary by medical professionals. The solution — Commandos. More »

I live on an energy drink or more a day, yet I still feel tired by the end of the day, restlessly tired. I have trouble sleeping and feel fatigued a majority of the time. A lot of people tell me that my energy drinks are bad for me, but I have been drinking a Monster or Rock Star everyday for a couple of years now. I honestly can say I am hooked, or better yet, addicted!
