If you’re a fan of Project Runway, make sure you read “Fashion House: Project Runway with a Twist” on Beauty Girl Musings. With this being the last season to air on Bravo before moving to Lifetime, Fashion House is ready to step into the empty slot.

When you’re getting ready for your date with that special guy, do you wear what makes you feel attractive or something that you know he likes on you? If you’re wearing something that you think he likes, it may be a good idea to check if he actually likes it first. Chances are he only says he likes it on you because you like it. Think about that hideous T-shirt your guy likes to wear, you told him it looks great on him but inside you’re wishing that the laundry monster eats it one day. Same goes with your guy and what you’re wearing.

According to the guys I talked to, here are some of the biggest offenders:

• Platform heels-That means your wedges! I know they’re in style right now and you love those extra inches, but some guys aren’t really into them. Embrace your petite size; it’s much sexier than trying to balance on those things.
• Lots of jewelry- Dangling earrings, three necklaces, six bracelets, four rings…sound like you? According to some guys, this makes you look like a Christmas tree. Avoid excess décor and stick to just one area instead. If you have a lot of jewelry that you really love, rotate it!
• Loads of makeup- I know you’ve all heard this one before. Men prefer a fresh face over a made up face. Let your natural beauty shine; otherwise, they’re in for a big surprise one day.
• Bermuda shorts- It’s summer time and these are a classic. I totally get it and even own a pair, but surprisingly, not many guys like them. Unless, however, they’re paired with stilettos. You get to wear your breezy shorts and still look sexy. Besides, heels always make our legs look amazing!
• Chipped nail polish- You may not think your guy notices your nails, but it’s actually one of the things they look at the most. Guys like to see that you take care of yourself, including your nails. So head to your manicurist and make them beautiful. (OK, maybe they don’t say they like your chipped nail polish, but they really don’t like the disheveled look.)
• Acrylic nails- This goes back to the natural look. You don’t want to end up like Will Smith’s date in an early episode of the “Fresh Prince” (she ends up removing her hair piece, color contacts, and press-on nails). Let your nails grow out, coat them with a clear or light shade of nail polish, and you’re all set.

Next time you go out shopping with your guy, ask him what he likes. I’m sure he’d be more than happy to let you know what he truly loves on you. Your guy is sure to appreciate being taken into account.

Well, my fellow guys and gals, you had to see this one coming – a “Sex and the City” (hereinafter SATC) movie review from your very own Beauty Chatter who trampled through a crowd of determined fans to see the premiere on opening day.

Standing amongst the crowd of SATC die-hards (as well as some men forcefully brought to the event by their ladies), I couldn’t help but mentally describe the event as the female’s version of the Super Bowl, minus the hot wings and a cold brew, plus Cosmopolitans and Fendi bags. It was quite a sight to see – hundreds of diverse women, all partaking in a pseudo-historic event in honor of the powerful, sexy woman. As an SATC follower myself, not attending the premiere would’ve been an exercise of futility.

Seeing that my friend and I landed arguably the most pathetic seats in the house, I sat in my far-sided, second row chair with an SATC chip on my shoulder. As soon as the hot pink-shaded HBO logo graced the screen and a brief clip of the lounge-like theme song serenaded our ears, we knew what was coming…“chip on the shoulder” officially gone!

Admittedly, the first 15 minutes of running time felt like I was visually flipping through an on-screen In Style magazine, which didn’t exactly win me over. However, as soon as those 15 minutes came and went, the next two hours were perfection, or as Samantha (Kim Cattrall) says, “fabulous!” The cinematic style definitely had the episodic touch, which brought about the comfort of SATC via your living room days, but was not so lax to where it lost its big-screen flair. Not to mention, the characters and storyline did not stray from where we left off in season six with Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) returning to New York with Big (Chris Noth) as her leading man. On the same token, however, for moviegoers new to the SATC craze, the plot was exceptionally coherent to where they could exit the theater with the same “Awe” sentiment.

The screenplay charismatically fused the lives of the characters together in an interpersonal fashion – making for a kinship amongst the girls and their babies and beaus. Reminiscent of the series, the audience got a large dose of Ms. Bradshaw’s narrative commentary that was coupled with clever plays on words and puns. Not to mention all the significant motifs throughout the film (like a pair of blue, gem-accented Manolo Blahniks) that made for many laughs and, of course, tears.

SATC, The Movie, serves up a blend of inevitable encounters, hilarious moments and, not mistakenly, love (with a sufficient dose of sexy rendezvous). From a groom missing in action to an official break-up topped off with an ending that just feels “right,” this film’s name should be changed to, “Hello, my name is fabulous!”

Just another great find from Foot Petals – the Sexy Socklette!! I saw these and immediately had to have them. Being the foot snob that I am, and having to have my pedicures come rain or shine, these were right up my alley!

I absolutely dread having to wear sandals in the winter after receiving my pedicure. Not enough to keep me from receiving them, but enough to make me cringe (burrrrrr). So I was super excited to come across these Sexy Socklettes! I am a huge fan of Foot Petals, and am always looking for their next great product. So ladies, this is a must-have item to keep in your cars for those much-needed pedicures!

If you are like me, the harsh winter takes a huge toll on your skin. You may think that because I live in Southern California, I wouldn’t have this problem. But the Santa Ana winds suck any – and all – moisture right out of me. On top of dealing with these drying winds, it is also flu season; the constant washing of my hands has only added to my need in finding something that will replenish the moisture of my skin and help it look better!

I know, there are plenty of skin care products out there for dry skin, but I have tried every over-the-counter lotion out there and have been nothing but disappointed. They are either too greasy, too thin in consistency, or have over-powering fragrances.

So I figured I need to look beyond the local Target and CVS pharmacy. So I hopped on the Internet and started my search. I stumbled upon Smooth Heals, which quickly caught my attention! Its owner and creator, Tennie Smith, has been hands-on in creating and testing her product.

Being a registered nurse for over 25 years, Tennie has had plenty of experience in treating certain skin conditions, such as dry flaky skin and stretch marks. She started by enhancing products that were already on the market, and eventually devised her on cream.

I thought, WOW! This lady has really taken an interest in figuring out how to heal such dry skin – how can I not try it? So I contacted her right away and a week or so later, I had the Body Cream, Lip Balm, and Shaving Cream. I wasted no time trying it out!

The cream is not your typical lotion consistency; it has more of a pasty consistency. At first I thought it was a tad greasy, but after a few seconds, it had totally been absorbed by my skin. It had a nice hint of lavender, but was no way overpowering. I loved it! I was so excited about it, I started passing it around the office, and the reactions I received were just as good as my own. This cream was fabulous! One other tidbit of information is that it is all organic!

I also tried the Lip Balm, and loved it. I have been using it every day, and have noticed fewer cracks on my lips. I just started using it on my son’s lips, and I am excited to see how it works for him. I am still not sure how I feel about the shaving cream, because I have not used it as often as the Body Cream and Lip Balm to notice much of a huge difference.
